It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I was teaching first graders, and now I have one! Zoe was very excited about her first day, and not at all nervous. She is in room 16 with Ms. Grejada, and was happy to see many familiar faces from last year. The first few days we were able to walk them onto the playground, and her teacher invited us into the classroom on day one. I felt better seeing her room and was surprised that I didn't shed any tears at dropoff. Today was another story. Now that she is used to the routine, the parents drive up to the gate and drop off their kids. I gave my big girl a huge hug and felt a little sad as she walked away without me. At the gate she turned around, waved, and said "Bye Mom!" and I cried a little. Our baby is growing up really fast, and I'm not sure I am ready for it!
Have a great year, sweetie! Daddy and I are so proud of you!
