Painted Pony Farm

Today we had a Girl Scout field trip to a super fun place in Ojai called the Painted Pony Farm.  It was a beautiful farm surrounded by mountains and the kids got some great hands-on experiences.  The girls got to hold baby chicks and bunnies, milk a goat, feed goats and sheep, & see lambs that were only 2 days old!  Here are some pictures from our exciting afternoon.

Holding a baby chick!  So cute!

Madelyn loved this little guy, and was surprisingly gentle with him.

The goats loved Maddie because she kept the flowers coming.

9 Beautiful Years

First Date, 1999

Wedding Day, 2003

2012
Happy Anniversary to us!  Darryl was supposed to be away for the two weeks surrounding our anniversary, but as luck would have it, the carrier had some mechanical difficulties and he ended up being home an extra weekend.  Woohoo!  I quickly booked our sitter and we enjoyed a delicious and quiet dinner at PF Changs. We also dusted off the wedding video and enjoyed watching it with the kids.  Love you, babe!

Nursery Rhyme Rock

On Friday, the parents were invited to school to watch a kindergarten performance called Nursery Rhyme Rock.  My girl was right up front and was super animated and adorable.  So proud to watch her, and so thankful I could be there!

After the performance, we went back to the classrooms to listen to the kids read from their poetry books...

Madelyn was not quite getting the hang of posing with Zoe.

Toddler Discovery Time

First Five Moorpark offers tons of fun classes for babies and toddlers, and they are all free!!  This month we tried one called Toddler Discovery and it has been fantastic.  There are stations set up around the room with different sensory experiences and toys.  The kids explore for the first 30 minutes, then we do circle time with songs, felt board stories, and the parachute.  A fun-filled hour, and did I mention it is free?!

Work

Zoe (while pushing Madelyn in the stroller):  This is hard.  When I grow up, I'm going to get married and have no kids!

Me: No kids?  Why not?

Zoe: Because they are a lot of work!

Very true, little girl, but worth every minute of it!

Easter 2012

We started off our Easter weekend with the annual Moorpark egg hunt, pony rides, and Easter crafts and games.  We weren't sure how Madelyn would react to her first pony ride, but true to form she was brave and loved it, neighing the whole time.  She was also a big fan of the bunny, who I personally think is a little scary looking.  Every time she saw him she'd yell out "Easter Bunny!"  Zoe loved getting her face painted and playing lots of fun games.

Easter morning the girls woke up to evidence that the Easter bunny had come!  He left two fun-filled baskets and hid 24 eggs for the girls to find.  We enjoyed a beautiful church service, and cooked dinner for our family and some friends.

Can't help but wonder where we will be celebrating Easter next year!

A happy girl riding her pony.

This is fun!

Not a great picture but somehow the only one we got with the bunny.

This is one serious egg hunter.
